Check-Mate Industries

Hi All,
Wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My Name is Joe and I am Project Manager from Check-Mate Industries. I have dealt with many of you in the past, but it has been a while since we had a presence on this board. For those of you that don't know me or Check-Mate, we have been making M14 magazines since the early 80's for the US Government. I will be monitoring the site and hopefully will be able to answer any questions you may have for us. I have been with Check-Mate for over 15 years, so hopefully I can contribute to your site.

Joe
Project Manager
Check-Mate Industries

Thanks from Pro_USA1776

Welcome aboard! Just bought some M14 mags from your sale late last year. I got nothing but great service from you guys. I had those mags in less than a 10 days from me mailing you the MO. Thanks, great product. Looking into getting 5 more soon.

Welcome back Joe FWIW your products get continuous praise and I own, umm, several of your 20 and 25 rd M1A mags and they are great. You will see some mixed feedback on the 25 rounders depending on who bought them when. I only bought the 25's in the last 6-8 months and have a few hundred flawless rounds through my SocII. There seems to be debate as to whether or not the early versions had the correct spring rate and sorry to put you on the spot, but you could end a never ending banter with some input on that. Great to see your interest and interaction...just one more thing that makes this the best forum

Questions and concerns

Hey Joe, good to hear from you. I have some questions and concerns about your product. How do I keep from stubbing my toe every morning going around the end of the bed, all the CMI Mags are piled up under there and flowing out into my walking path. I suppose magnetizing them so I can stick them to the bedframe is out of the question, huh? Great stuff ya'll turn out, appreciate it!!!...........rip.

Joe, curious, when CMI got the contract to make these magazines, what were the requirements given to CMI to keep these "new" mags as close to GI spec as the the originals?

Hi Joe. Have nothing but CMI mags in my stable. I live over in Huntington any chance I can come over for a vist, take a few pics of the no secured area for the forum? I would love to stop by. I have my FFL on file with you and need to pick up a few more mags anyway, the two birds with one stone thing. Let me know I am on the forum everday.

PS welcome to the forum!!!!!
Do you shoot an M14 type? We have a few members we travel to the range with on a semi regular basis. WOuld love to have you along! You dont need a rifle.

Thanks for the kind replies...
8Ball--- We did go to a longer spring after the first few months of production, based on testing and feedback we had received from the field. If you could post a link to the thread, i would love to read it and hear about the problems you guys are experiencing.
Ripsaw--Next time you order mags from us, let me know, I'll magnetize them for you!!
Mr. Jitters -- We still work to the Government prints that are put out with each solicitation. These are GI spec mags.
82--You are welcome to come by for a visit. Give me a call or email me and we will set up a meeting. This week is tough, as I was out of the office all last week at the shot show, but maybe sometime next week.

I too, bought several CMI mags last year.

They work perfectly and were shipped out the same day I ordered them.

Great service.

Joe
Was wondering about the stainless steel mags I see on the Brownells site. Never see them anywhere else. Was this a special run for them? Was thinking about getting a few. They would go well with my stainless Supermatch.

Hi Guys-- sorry for the absence. Getting caught up from the Shot Show....
HighBrow-- the 20RD SS mag, or as we dubbed it, the Terminator, or T-20, is available for sale through 44 Mag,Top Gun Supply, Brownells, or direct from us.
It was not a special run for brownells, just something we thought of and said why not. We put a coated follower in it and it feels and feeds super slick. It will also be offered shortly in a less flashy form, for all you L/E and Military guys out there.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome.
