Still have most of one line of tobacco out here. Finished up about 1/3lb last night & still have about 1/2lb to strip center stem, cut up, & finish drying.

And another batch of tobacco processed today. Should only have one more batch to process & then finally done.

Finally done. Got the last off the line & processed it. Have about 3lbs in three one gallon ziplock bags.

Kind of read the last half of the thread. I'll read the rest but I"m being pressured to help someone right now with their computer problems.

Interesting reading, to say the least.
I've been thinking about growing tobacco here on the west coast of florida, tampa bay area. To see if its viable cost wise. Problem may be I have too many oak trees.. Lots of shade.

Been mail ordering tobacco & filter tubes for over a year. Just ordered some 4# of my regular tobacco($12.90), 1# of a new brand they have($11.90) & 15 cartons regular non menthol tubes ($2) ...with shipping round numbers was $105 = $7 per carton or slightly less as I seem to always be short on tubes @ 3 cartons per pound. Use a little, think its EXP 1000, lever style injector machine which was maybe $15 .

If I was a menthol guy I would buy menthol tubes probably.. or try the menthol tobacco, think its same or near same price as regular, but not as many blend choices.

Actually, some shade is good for the tobacco growing as there is such a thing as them getting too much sun. About 5 hours per day is ideal.
