| This can't be good...
I rarely post in here and this may have been mentioned somewhere, but thought I'd share anyway...
I have a Motorola Bionic from Verizon, nice smart phone and all, pretty much a mini computer, oh and you can make calls with it too . Well, the other day it did a software update, didn't think much of it till yesterday when I noticed some apps weren't where they usually are. So I see what's been added and there's the usual Verizon bloatware, but then I see "Emergency Alerts". I think to myself, "WTF is this?" So I go in it and check it out, it says, "No Emergency Alerts. To modify what alert messages are received go to menu > settings." So I go to the settings.
Here they are:
Presidential-level alert (mandatory alert)
Extreme alert (extreme threat to life and property)
Severe alert (severe threat to life and property)
Amber alert (child abduction emergency)
The bottom three can be switched off, but the Presidential-level alert is always on. Part of my concern is the levels, severe and extreme are pretty much the same thing in my book. Also, if they're talking about the weather, why don't they say that in the alert?
Basically now the government can download mass hysteria directly to my phone, isn't that magical?
This points to some serious bad juju is coming and coming soon.

In the movie V the President had something similar so he could always indoctrinate the masses. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy

Greetings,
Wow, that's crazy. Am I understanding it correctly that you are NOT able to turn off some of the notifications? Do you know the actual source of that "app"?
Have you guys heard the story last week about some type of web tracking software that Google was able to insert into some Apple phones?
I think Orwell nailed it way back.
Regards, Jim

Correct, the "Presidential-level alert" cannot be switched off. The app was installed with the latest phone software update which comes from Verizon. Looking into it more I found this: http://www.infowars.com/unannounced-...in-new-jersey/
Looks like the government will be controlling the messages... Looks like the PLAN already works, and that was just a test.

Those of us who have been around for quite a while and who were aware, can see the systematic slow subjectcation of the people.
This technology has been a godsend for those in power.they can nearly monitor every move you make and all the electronic comm you use.
How many of those cameras and mike"s in your phones and laptops are always on for them??? They follow you by the gps in your cell phone.
At any time they can "tag" you and have 24x7 details on your activity and whereabouts.
People are sensing a coming catostrophic event, They don't know what it is, just like animals that can feel a natural catostrophic event long before the event takes place.
Many are compelled to "prepping" for the unknown.
HOW LONG BEFORE IT WILL BE ILLEGAL TO UNPLUG YOUR TV SET?
BB1984 IS A LITTLE LATE IN COMING BUT IT IS HERE!

I will be Darned if I can find out how to | My phone isn't supported and I'm not so sure I'd want to "strip down" my OS just to remove an app. If I can ignore the bombardment from the media, I can ignore an app on my phone... hell, I ignore most the people that call me.
I've turned off the "location" feature but something tells me it still works in the background via the cell towers triangulation. I turned off the feature that puts your location in pics, definitely not keen on that. If anyone is tracking my web searches and such, that's fine. Now and then I like to look up bomb building, weapons stockpiling, bunker building, anti-government groups and the like in hopes it sets off a red light somewhere... f_ck 'em if they can't take a joke, right?
I'm only 34 and I can see the change, it's really sad too.
I watched "Idiocracy" a while back and realized it really is the future of the US.

Makes me wonder what's going to happen on election day actually... not talking about voting results either. Quote:
