well looked up the powermatic 2 is about
50/50 some love it others hate it. i am getting
better with the top o matic T2. is a learning
curve to it. i like the sparrow brand at B&B.
i like my home made ones over store bought
ones. been getting 2 cartons and 1 1/2 packs
out of a lb. i would say to get a top o matic T2.
when you get it oil and grease all the moving
parts. and re oil every 4-5 cartons. has a year
warranty and was $50 on ebay. then cheapest
i have found tubes is $121.99 with free shipping
for 50 cartons of full flavor tubes. was $118 but
has gone up a little.

If just getting started on RYO, make sure you match up lengths for everything. 100s are 100mm. Kings are 78mm. Shorts are 70mm which is what I do.

We use the Top-O-Matic and get the Ohm lite (Silver) pipe tobacco, usually about $14lb from RYO. We use the Premire tubes. It just takes a knack for getting the right amount so they aren't over packed or too loose....O.L.

Right now I'm making mine with two parts pipe tobacco to one part home grown tobacco. Just seems a good ratio to make both last as long as possible.

Definately want a hand crank tobacco shredder by harvest time since I expect to have 4X more tobacco then 2011.

ok the hardest part of making cigarettes
with the machines. is getting a tube out of
the box. so i did some thinking while making
them. then i thought about a toothpick dispenser.
so i cut about 3" piece off top of old box for a
ramp. then i cut 1 1/2" off top of new box and
put my ramp in it and turned on side. they roll
out.

so makes it easer to grab a tube while making
cig's.
so here is making cig's with the T2 and my tube
dispenser.

then here is a carton or so in humidor after i
make them. so i am left handed so if you are
right handed you would cut other side of tubes.
to insert your ramp. it has made it much faster
to make cig's.

Neighbor lady had bought a Gambler hand injector for filtered tubes but couldn't get it to work right. Problem was the cut of the homemade tobacco I gave her. I figured the thing out & used The Good Stuff & seemed to work ok except a total PITA fitting the tubes on the tube.

I notice the thumb roller gets harder to use with the arthritis in my hands. So eventually I will need to go to electric machine using 78mm tubes. But will continue using the thumb roller as long as I can to atleast get threw last year's tobacco. Come harvest time this year I'll have a proper shredder.
