+1 on the campingsurvival.com on the 550 cord.
the Forrest green is just a little bit off in shade color than O.D. a little lighter in color but being cheaper I personally can deal with it.

So apparently campingsurvial.com and paracordking.com are owned by the same guy, and they offer the same paracord products.
I ordered 1000' of OD and 1000' of foliage green 550 cord last night. As soon as they show up I'll be spinning some of these rolls. I'll post back up when I have a few of them made.

So my cord came in. I built the first batch of the colors noted above and on a local gun forum and I sold 12 in one evening. Holy cow... wasn't expecting that.
Here's some of my work. It's gotten (much) better since the original one I posted up when I started this thread. I tried a few different starting loop lengths and settled on what you see below. It comes out in a near perfect size (I happen to really like it.. lol).
Colors on top (loose cord) are Coyote brown and Desert Sand. Colors already rolled (left to right) are Olive Drab, Foliage Green, and Royal Blue. I also have 2000' ft of multi-camo showing up tomorrow.
Once I get some more of these done I just might have to put a few up for sale in the BX if anyone is interested.

Where would one learn how to make their own doughnuts? Are there any good youtube videos you're aware of, or something to that affect? That's pretty cool. I have a 1000' roll of the OD green, from a while ago, but I could always use some more, so maybe I'll get some of those other colors I like. Good thread.

This is actually somewhat fun, but holy cow my fingers are taking a ton of abuse. I have to wear 4 cloth band-aids to keep my fingers from wearing raw while working with the cord. It's tough on the hands making these wraps. |

I like the idea of using paracord for every day uses but i find that i have an endless supply of bailing twine laying around so there is no need for paracord. Like my grandpa wonce said "you can fix any thing with duck tape and hay string," and its about true.
Cool idea with the donuts for storing them.
Good Shooting.

Been making good progress the past few weeks. I think I might have actually injured a ligament in my thumb doing this. No kidding. |

Well, I thought I would try it to see how hard it is. Its a lot more work then I'm willing to do, It took me 45 minuites to do this one, its about 4 1/2" across, Mine speaks "Donut" with a accent.

That knot is tougher than it should be for me! I spent about 45 minutes trying to get it started neatly. I'm no knot rookie (I've sold a bunch of stuff on ebay in the past couple of years), but this one is giving me fits. I'm going to keep trying as I've got a whole bunch of paracord in many colors that need to be organized!
Thanks for giving me something to do besides work!

I think I have somewhere around 45 spun up now, but 3 of the OD rolls are set aside and are already sold. Earthquake: Don't give up. My first one took just over two hours to do. It was crazy. Now it takes about an hour to make one. It's a big time commitment, but it's a good way for me to multi-task while I'm watching a movie or whatnot.
One thing I have noticed from the various photos I've posted in this thread: My work continues to get better. I actually have a "style" for rolling these. Crazy I tell ya!

After reading these posts, went looking for some cord at my usual spot where I had purchased some a couple of years ago. Anyway, they were out. Spoke to the clerk and he said there has been an uptick in demand for the stuff lately. Seems everyone is buying the stuf to make the bracelets, sinnets, etc. Found 100' for $10 at another store and heard of another place that had it for $0.15/ft.
