Blast from the past!

Wow I haven't thought about those canvas water bags in years. Used to be that almost every 5 ton truck heading toward the Delta corridor at 29 Palms had several of these hanging from the front bumber.

Update
I got three of the new bags that some are calling "Desert storm bags", they are made in England and hold about a gallon of water. I do not like the fact that they have no screw on cap you have tie the neck closed with the cotton strip of rope the is sewn on the neck. I went to the hard ware store and bought a PVC fitting and screw on cap, pushed it down in to the neck and put a few wraps of 550 round it and rolled the neck back around the 550, now I have a screw on cap. they take a few days of soaking to get them swelled up to not leak to bad but they do hold water for a week after that, I think I read some where that if you fill them with sugar water they will seal better and get rid of the canvas taste faster.
