got my new gunstock in from Stockade Gun Stocks (http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/)
took about 3 months or so to get the stock but I must say it was worth the wait.

Here are some pictures, the scope and rings I have on are just for looks, i need to get the rings for the real scope i will put on it.

if was a little worried because I read there was alluminum pillar bedding blocks that was part of the stock but I did not see them. However after talking with somone they said it is built within the stock and you cannot see the alluminum pillars, so I should expect under 1 moa of accuracy now with it

to be honest flyinghigh, i have not even shot the rifle yet. I knew from day 1 I needed to replace the stock that came with it and i knew I wanted to do this right before I even took it out to shoot.

however I have heard good things from the rifle in it's standard configuration, i've heard you can even expect up to .50 moa "out of the box" however I have not been able to confirm this myself. I'am hoping that with the equipment I have got for the rifle I can get some good results though :ARM34:

Hi Silverguy:

That is an AWESOME stock and really makes the rifle have that "tactical" look.

Can you help me with a couple of questions?

1. Is that a long action in there?
2. What kind of scope base are you using?

Just curious, that looks like a really nice scope setup on your savage.

Thank in Advance,

Tom O.

Dig,

10fp, short action. 110 denotes long action.

Silverguy,

Nice rig. I'd check the scope mount however it looks like it's mounted backwards. Not so much of a big deal if it's 0moa but if it has any cant you'll notice once you try to zero.

<edit> Nevermind second pic shows it mounted right. </edit>

Even though it has pillars take the time and bed it. You'll be happy you did.

And yeah you'll be able to get less than 1 moa out of it. Mine did this with factory trigger, and barrel.... Just couldn't keep from pulling the 5th shot.. But I'm much better now.

Very cool!

I have a Savage (12FVSS?) stainless steel fluted hvy bbl in .223. In the factory stock it shoots Winchester 45gr into one hole at 100yds. No kidding, shooting grapes at 100yds gets boring. I want to change the stock, but hate to tempt fate. And for what I use it for the Win 45gr is fine.

Can you get lower rings, or do they interfere with the scope clearance?

You are gonna love shooting it.

my "medium" Burris tactical rings seem to have good clearance, is not getting in the way of the bolt knob or anything. With the 20 MOA base that helps as well with the clearance issues, I believe I could go lower but Medium is fitting well with where my head is resting on the cheekpiece
