Gun Rider, I guess I got lucky and it wasnt cheap. It was just one of those things where I would buy one gun and that purchase would lead to another and so on. I was told at the time that it was one of 4 walther 2000 in the country. Three were in museums and the one I got. Wether it is true or not I do not know. But I do know that there were not many built.

Range time

Went to Angeles Friday morning with Desert Tactical Arms SRS .308 bullpup to sight in and shoot groups.

Ballistic card from company got me in the black pretty quickly, within six shots. I sighted in with 168 grain Federal match and then switched to 175 grain Federal BTHP --(almost exact same POA -- didn't adjust) . The flash suppressor on the gun wasn't heat treated, so they suggested I take it off for groups shooting --

They wanted me to shoot groups off their Harris Bipod with podlock (I'd usually shoot off bags). I wanted to shoot the full six rounds in the single stack removable magazine. I'd get four rounds touching and then exhale wrong and throw one a quarter an inch left. I calmed down, decreased the length of the bipod legs so they were a little steadier, and shot some groups for pictures.

I'm on this intestinal cleanse where I don't eat till lunch, and I swear I could feel the blood running through my head. These are the two best six shot groups I shot at 100 yards:

One under 1/2 MOA, the other just over. when I did my part it could shoot like this all day. I haven't cleaned the gun in 300 rounds, so it's a pretty good example of the field accuracy of this gun.
The gun has a barely one pound trigger, and using the "points" on the sighter target's diamonds as reference for the crosshairs made it easy to have the same hold.

After I shot these two groups I just loaded up mags and shot the swingers out at 300, 400, 500, and six hundred yards using the hashmarks in the US Optics scope. I cold have used their supplied ballistic table to set the scope for each range, but it was easy to hit the targets figuring holdover on the scope.

I just need to put back one spacer in the stock (I took out one too many) and get some 338 Lapua. If I can con someone into sending me some. The gun has to go to Ichiro Nagata for REAL photos and then back to teh factory, although the production DTAs are starting to come out.

It works.

Sir, that is truly bad ass!! what a nice rifle, and you have my dream scope on top to boot. I have a HS in 338, and have been saving penny by penny to get an SN3. Only issue for me with the SRS is I'm a lefty, so that design might be a pain for me..but that is awesome.

Got some good news yesterday. I should see mine in late January or February. The reason for the dalay is that the British SAS ordered a bunch in .338 and they are filling in that order. If the rifle is good enough for the the SAS it is good enough for me and I can wait. Just hope the price doesnt double by that timeGI8

Do you already have a deposit down? I don't think Nick would raise your price after you ordered -- would he?
I am not sure if there has been a deposit since my dealer ordered the rifle. As for raising the price it wouldn't be Nick. It would be the Tax that Obummer will put on the rifle because he will be in office by then. Actually I was joking but one never knowsGI8
