Thank you for your e-mail. The MVPs will accept AR-10 and M1A magazines. The 7.62 MVP will also accept M14 magazines. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Customer Service Team
O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc.
yeah , They are referring to a non chassis model. The standard mvp rifles will take the m1a magazines. THE LIGHT CHASSIS WILL NOT, as its the chassis that has to be large enough to accept the magazine. Not surprising that Mossberg doesn't even know the limitations to their own rifle...

If it wasn't such a pain in the ass to upload pictures on here, I would take pictures of attempting to insert a M1a/M14 magazine into the magwell to once and for all end the debate.

Its funny, and a little sad at the same time to have to educate a company on a product that they currently produce.

Without a full magazine, their website says it weighs 10#

the m14 mags work with the non chassis for sure and I do like them better than the mag-pul sr25 . I thought I read somewhere you have to use aic mags with the mdt but I could be wrong . anyway here is proof they work with the mvp-lr 308

Picking up a new MVP .308 Patrol this evening. I really like my Patrol in 5.56 so hope the .308 shoots as good if so it will become my deer gun.

I have a Mossberg scout 7.62 NATO and it accepts and locks up tight w/no wobble, even with full mags and bolt closed.

Pmag 10 rd poly- my favorite.
CMI 20 and 10 rd great
Thermold 20 rd- These are OK for range mags but loaded and in storage they will pop rounds.

Mine is about a 1.5-2 min rifle, depending upon how my day is going, with milspec loads in LCLR brass with Hornady 150 FMJBT

Cheers
seabreeze

Zeroed MVP Patrol- Started at 30 yards then 50 and finally 100. Happy with the way it shoots, got this three shot group at 100 yards not real tight yet but it's a good starting point. I may move the AR scope to my MVP Patrol 5.56 and replace it with a Weaver Kaspa 1x4 24 30mm then again not sure if it matters.

Ammo: Ultramax 308WIN 168GR BT-Hollow Point
Optic: Bushnell AR 1x4 24 30mm with quick release mounts
