Remington 722 in .257 Roberts! That is a wonderful rifle!

The stock is really designed for iron sights and with the drop on the comb can make recoil seem a bit worse so take it easy on your daughter. Also the 722 action is short and bullets heavier than 100 grains are going to sit down in the powder space, but, since the Roberts throat is short, you can't seat them out anyway. Still a very nice rifle with a well earned reputation for accuracy. I'm jealous.

Yeah, we'll be practicing a lot with the 22 this summer. She's shot my 7x57mm featherweight a couple times and didn't complain at all, so I'm not too worried about recoil.

I also have some 257 bullet moulds which is going to be fun.

Thanks from Wasted ammo

My running buddy inherited his grandmothers 722 in 257 Roberts.
With a scope on it the drop in the stock made it slap your jawbone pretty good.
Found a 700 short action wood stock off a BDL and with a little fitting for the sight band on the barrel it dropped right in.

100 grain ballistic tips and RL17 make it a dandy deer rifle.

Congrats to you and your daughter !

Can't wait for spring to finally get here so we can start the fun.
Hello, 30Caliber.
It must be nice having a Walmart so close, the closest one to me is a 2 1/2 hours drive up 395 into NV. and the closest sporting goods store with ammo is a 45 min. drive south too Bishop Ca. But, we do have that big brown truck that stops by when needed... It's reload or buy in bulk in these parts of the woods/mountains here on the east side.
So you have the reforming dies for the 7mm?, if not I have a set I don't use.
Spring is only a week away, but the ranges up here are under at lest 5-6 feet of snow still, at 8000' and winter isn't over for us yet... But, that's why I'm a member down at the Bishop Gun Club, best $25.00 ever spent for yearly dues and no show-up fees per-day.
If you need the reforming dies, give me a shout.
