I got a chance to go to the indoor range today. I shot my pistol at pins last night and then today took the RPR to do barrel break-in. Too keep the weight off my frame I put my backpack in a rolling bag. This worked great. I had a very nice break-in session today. No accuracy shooting yet. Still break-in.

My plan to take the scope off my 308 was not perfect. The rings are not high enough to clear the hand guard. So, I will need new rings for sure. That might bring a new scope into the picture as well. For now, I will have to steal the ACOG off my M4 to shoot this rifle for accuracy.

Shooting with an ACOG today while I wait for the proper rings for my NF scope. The rifle appears to be very accurate I am still wiggling too much in the trigger.

25 yards is the max for this indoor range. Once I got it sighted in the groups were around this size. I think I can do much better with my NF scope, better lighting, and a 100 yard range. We will see.

25 yard ten shot group. Each square is 1":

Haha, I thought you would like her. 25 yards isn't even off her porch. Glad to see you are feeling up too shooting! Keep us posted!

Thanks. The weather here is bad but I plan on getting to a longer range soon. Also, my rings came late today so the NF scope will be on her tomorrow. To be fair the the rifle these are the first rounds I have put through the gun other than barrel break in.

Thanks from nf1e

I received my scope rings and got the scope mounted from my other rifle. I will probably buy a new scope at some point but not yet. I don't like to buy cheap glass anymore. I learned some hard lessons on that this past few years. Here is the RPR sporting the NightForce ATACR 5x25 56mm. I will get up to the range if the weather would clear. We have a lot of snow here this year. Sorry about the cheap gun stand. I should use something else that is not black. I will post pictures from the range.

Front side of scope clearance on hand guard.

I did decide to try the NightForce Cant indicator ring. Not cheap. I will see if I really think it helps. All my distance shooting friends claim it is a must.

Five weeks today. I am doing well and walking without and aide. I have an elliptical trainer in my basement that I bought many years back. It's real handy right now to get in workouts with no impact. Not much distance yet but that is coming. A real test will be walking to/from the 100 and 200 yard targets at the range in the snow.

I have my first plane flight on Thursday so I will get the new "extra screening" experience then.

Thanks for asking. I hope all is well with you.

I forgot to mention I also changed out the factory grip to a Bravo Company grip I had in my drawer.

End of my range trip plans today. If you ski this is your year to come to Utah and ski our incredible powder. Almost all our resorts are over 100"

The one in post 33 & 34. The Bravo grip is a bit nicer and is more vertical. I think any M4 or AR15 grip without the trigger guard part will fit.

I can see it better now that I'm home, I was trying to squint on my phone. The more I look at that rifle the more I want one.

Thanks from SteedGun
