Ruger Precision Rifle muzzle break

Anyone out there using the ruger brake on their RPR?
The new version has the brake and I was thinking of buying the brake for mine that doesn't have it on there.
Just wondering how you like it.

I don't have a RPR but I am using one on a Remington 700 SPS AAC. I also have a custom built rifle by Sniper Central with a muzzle brake. I will only buy a rifle I can use a muzzle brake on. All are chambered.308 but the muzzle brake makes a huge difference. In matches, the people next to me do not like it but tough .

I have the RPR in 308, GenII. The muzzle brake is very effective, but annoying to shooters on either side of you. I welcome distractions so I can learn to ignore them.

In have a Gen I .308 without a muzzle brake as well as a Gen II 6.5 CM with a brake and the brake on the Gen II seems very effective, I haven't tried the Gen II brake on the .308 yet, maybe one of these days.

Just curious...How long did it take to get your 6.5 CM RPR's?

My gen 1 took 6 months after the release date of the rifle...and then 3 months after that I got the call on my gen 2.

I went straight to Gunbroker. A gun store in Maine had several 6.5 CM in stock.
I ordered it on a Monday and it arrived at my FFL Wednesday morning.

I bought my 308 from them as well. $1249.00. Same thing very fast shipping and great to deal with. Davidsons hates that store. They get them when no one else can.

Not to take away from the thread, the muzzle brake works great. My buddy and I both have them. No problems.

I've had that muzzle break on back order from Ruger for 2 months now. I wish they would get them in stock again.

If your on FB you may want to look at this group, some of these guys can't get enough of the upgrade-itis so you'll see factory stock items like muzzle brakes show up for sale fairly often.

Agreed.

I ordered my 6.5 Creedmoor RPR on Gunbroker and had it in five days.

Look at the thread on Recovery Rifle for my write up.

I will be changing my brake to a SureFire 6.5 SOCOM II brake as soon as the part is back in stock. The Ruger brake is fine but I want the SureFire brake that will fit the suppressor I wan to buy. Please tell Donald to fix the suppressor mess soon.

BTW - If anyone wants my Ruger brake after I put the SureFire brake on let me know. Right now both Optics Planet and Midway are saying the SureFire part is eight weeks out.

Steed,

Check in with me when you take it off.
If my order from Ruger doesn't come in prior to you, I'll take it off your hands.

Thanks from SteedGun
