Is something going on in the Mosin Nagant market?

Unless they are really sweet rifles, that's a bit much.

I think the value of their recoil therapy has caught up to them

No seriously
The Russian manufactured Mosins seem to keep a premium price over the other countries product
They may be numbers matching and A1 condition , soo worth it

Not sure about mosins but the value of finnish m39s have gone up. I always wanted a finnish m39 so i was one of those crasies who bought one from classic firearms.

Same here, I bought one for $189 about a year and a half ago and now the same LGS has them for $399 ... run of the mill Mosins.

Sheesh--not too long ago I bought a 91/30 with bayonet, ammo pouches, and cleaning kit all for under $100. I bought a gazillion rounds of ammo for about $60, too. Sorry.

Is $399 the price for the entire case of rifles, or just a single rifle????

Four hundred bucks seems like a good deal for a full case of m91/30s or m44s or m38s.

But for a single rifle, that is insane.

Some years back a friend of mine bought 3 m-44s for $35 each. All the Moisin Nagants I have bought have been from $50 to $100 each.

Hello,
I also remember when a local call, only cost 5 cent (on a pay phone), so yes, times are a changing....
No, you are not going to find that Big 5, $99.00 DEAL, ANY MORE; for any Mosin Nagant.....let alone the surplus ammo prices of yesterdays gone by....
(Well, wait. Maybe the new guy, might be able to help on the surplus ammo issue though.. I hear he has friends over there...Time will tell)... Side issue, though....
No, the good times and low prices of Mosin Nagants gone past, are just that... In the past... long gone...
Yet, they are fine rifles, you should shop around and buy one, before they go up more..

Hello, Heck yea, the 180gn yellow tipped round is impressive. Out of the M-44 up to the M-91, were it really preforms. The 7.62x54R is a true performer...
The Mosin Nagant platform is a very simple and solid firearm, that has lasted the test of time; it is still a battle rifle, today.... I'm not sure if, I can say that about my 03-A3s....but I love shooting them also.... You've gotta love Mil-surplus...and/or it's clones.....
You've got to be kidding me. "Gotta", is a "real" word, now.(not spell checked), Man, I'm getting old...... But, I can still shoot... Life is Good...
Oh yea, can we leave this topic about the Mosin Nagant and not the other stuff...sorry about my earlier side track..... my bad...

I got about 20 or so Finnish Mosins and their prices are stable at about that $400 price, and up. I know I was going to buy a crate of Russian Mosins about three years ago for $75 each (dealer price plus shipping), but the dealer friend backed out, and did not buy any at the time. So I got screwed.

I never paid more than $450 for a Finn Mosin. I bought two this year @ $350 each. One was a Remington and is SA Marked, and the other is a New England and is also SA marked.

I am down to two tins of 440 rounds left. Should order some more. They are a hoot to shoot till about 50-75 rounds then the old shoulder starts a hurting.
