I think they are neat rifles also, however I for one cannot afford to add another caliber to my logistics tail. Lol I've got enough chambers to feed so ill hold out for something of the Swiss flavor but in .308.

Those are beautiful rifles. You should be smitten with it if you're not already. Don't be overly concerned about ammo availability or prices. The load is easy to duplicate.

These are very neat and exceptionally accurate rifles. I have a real beauty I bought using my C&R license that I paid $100.00 + shipping for several years back.

When it comes to reloading use .308 diameter bullets just like we use in our beloved M-14's and you can use resized .284 Winchester cases which are cheaper than 7.5 Swiss brass.

Oh, I am in love.

She is a beauty. Definitely the most accurate rifle I own. If I am hitting 2 MOA with irons, I can only hope what the accuracy with some glass will be.

I will definitely reload once I actually settle down and have a more permanent place.

It would be sweet to sportarize one. But man it would take away the value. Iraqveteran8888 has a video of a sported out K31. It was shooting 1/2" groups or so at 200 yards.

Tell me about it. One could find them for $300, even $100 back in the day. Now they are in the $500-800 range depending on condition. I have seen some on GB go for over $1000! I am just glad I got mine now!

I deleted the links when I sold my K-31 but if you Google "Swiss K-31 forums" there are several very good sites with info about the Swiss rifles. The original Swiss recipe for finishing the stocks was in one of them if you decide to refinish the stock.

I can recall when they were under $100.00. The original Swiss milsurp GP11 ammo used to be match grade quality.

I took the sling off for collectors sake.

What should I do to an old leather sling to keep her in good condition in the long term? What oils to use?

Use mink oil the liquid stuff and let the leather absorb it naturally. I use it on my leather holsters to keep them from drying out.

Buy all the gp11 ammo you think you'll ever need. Match grade ammo has never been so cheap that I've seen

I love my k31, still bummed that mine didn't have a troop tag, but not too much.

I have one of them fancy bolt on mounts in alum with rings that I don't use, hit me up if you're interested.

Thanks from M11293

I have a bunch of milsurps from many different countries from WW1 & WW2.
I always liked the K31 but unfortunately I don't own one but I think I have to change that soon:)
