Remington 700 5R

Well, what can I say. I got a few bucks so I decided to build up a bolt 308. I am starting with a NIB Remington 700 5R. I should have pics by Friday.

Here is what I am doing.
  • Remington 700 5R 308 fluted, cerakoted, 24" barrel, threaded
  • Surefire SOCOM Muzzle Brake Suppressor Adapter LR-308 5/8"-24 Thread Steel Matte
  • McMillian A5, fully adjustable, stock in desert camo
  • Nightforce 1-Piece 20 MOA Picatinny-Style Scope Base Remington 700 Short Action Matte
  • NightForce XTREME Duty Ultralite, 1pc Compact Mag Mount,Black,1.5in,20 MOA,34mm A362
  • Nightforce ATACR Rifle Scope 34mm Tube 5-25x 56mm Hi-Speed Zero Stop DIGILLUM Illuminated Reticle Matte MOAR-T

Eventually I will have a Surefire SOCOM 2 suppressor for this rifle but I already broke the bank for now.

Pics as soon as I get the stuff. Christmas in September for sure.

Thanks from cmshoot, tnw50cal, Sharky and 4 others

My dad has one in the 300 WM. He says he really likes it and wants the throw the Sendero away now. Hope he throws it my way...

Val now we can go up and shoot steel out at distance. Do you not like the Manners stocks? Don't get me wrong I love Mcmillan but manners is something else to look at as well.

Should be 11.25, I know the 300 is 1 in 10.

Yup. I am a bit of a stock rookie so I really only knew the McMillan name. Rifle is 1:11.25. I would have just kept the factory stock but I hope to use this rifle in a long distance class that requires an adjustable check piece.

Between this and my Sako 300 Win Mag I have two good distance bolt guns. My M21 does well too. My goal in this rifle is a 308 bolt that I could shoot all day and not kill my shoulder. The precision rifle class I want to attend has one shooting around 300 rounds over four days. I still need to qualify for this course in the practical rifle course.

What kind of stock the rifle came in with?

The 5R usually comes from the factory with an H-S Precision stock.

Nice!! That setup should be a shooter.

I have a McMillian A5 and have enjoyed shooting it immensely. Are you going to pillar bed it?
