Ruger GSR Chambering Problem

My friend has a Ruger Gunsight Scout and we loaded some 168gr A MAX seated to 2.775 for it but it's hard to close the bolt and it's scratching the side of the bullets. It chambers 150gr bullets fine.
Has anyone else had this problem with 168gr bullets?

scoring brass

I saw a thread on this site re: brass scoring. Mine does too. May be a problem with mil spec brass/loads. It may have something to do with chamber/ramp deburring. Hope it does go away with use.

I have a GSR and it has operated flawlessly for over 500 GI Surplus and reloaded rounds from 145gr up to 168 gr from COAL from 2.735 to 2.820.

Ruger's customer service is very good and turn around time is two weeks or less.

We were only neck sizing,it was once fired R P brass fired through the GSR, we tried full sizing some and that seemed to help

The owners manual states that - "...is chambered for the .308 cartridge manufactured in accordance with U.S. industry practices."
