I keep looking at higher priced scopes for a .280AI I'm building on a savage action and can't justify them. I've shot this one out to 600 with no problems. I might go the 5-20 x route next time though. I think to get a better glass with the same features you'll be in the Nightforce range.

A Savage 10FLP, my first bolt action center fire and still my favorite. Over 3000 rounds down the barrel and it still puts 5 shots inside a nickel at 100 yards. Factory stock except for the McMillan HTG.

I'm on a roll! Here's another one.

Before: My Savage 16FLHSS (.308 Winchester) when I used it for hog hunting.

After: Rebuilt by Sharp Shooter Supply and glass bedded by McMillan

Hard to believe its the same rifle!

Five shots at 200 yards.

Remington 700P in a AICS. Not the worst group for high wind conditions, but not the best group I've done either.

Here's my junkyard build, its a vz-24 action with a 26" 7.62N barrel off of some British target or sniper rifle I bought from Sarco years ago, I made the bolt handle from a 3/8" stainless bolt and made a aluminum knob for it, I cut the original bolt Handel off and welded mine with a heat sink in so the bolt would not get too hot. I screwed the barrel on and it headspaced out fairly tight, it still has the black paint on it the Brit's use. I took a old M98 stock I had that some body cut down and full floated the barrel and glassed the lug in and put in some aluminum ferrules that I fit to the action and epoxied in to the stock. I fit a Bold trigger set to about 2 1/2 pounds and put a slip on recoil pad on it. I drilled and tapped it for the scope bases and installed some cheap scope I had [I think its a BSA] I have shoot some 1 MOA 5 shot groups with but it mostly keeps them under 2" at 100 yards, I only have about $200.00 in so I'm not hurt if it wont put them into a single ragged hole.
