On a side note, not trying to derail this thread, but I'm just curious: what does a short magnum offer over a regular capacity case, aside from just being more compact? I've haven't done a whole lot of reading on bolt guns, but from what I hear 300WSM is a great little round for some extreme distances. | Well you could talk about this one as much as the 9mm vs 45 debate...
but my OPINION is short bolt throw so I dont have to break my cheek weld gives better consistency
Have read the short case burns powder more efficiently than the regular magnum case.
Shorter over all rifle length with same barrel length.
and within 100 fps of the standard magnum.
this will be a one mile rifle easy with the technical ability to shoot 2000yds. I doubt i will develop the skill to do so but it will sure be fun to try...
