History at Camp Perry?

Who has a link or know s the story of a shooter that shot allday with a bolt action, stock sights ,and issue ammo, and did not lose until the day light faded?Maybe in the 60s?
There may be a course or something dedicated to him....
I do not even know where to begin giigling this one..

That is the Farr trophy. Named for George R Farr.

It was in 1921.

And afterwords, everyone chipped in and got enough money together so he could buy the rifle.

I know this is a late response but if you're still interested Major Culver has written a nice narrative on the 1921 match on his website jouster.com. It is titled "The End of an Era" if I'm not mistaken. I believe it is in the jouster tales part of the website. Probably my favorite shooting related story.
