Hammer1, the statement was that I was going with the Edge because it at the time was something that I could afford and can shoot two different rounds....with the Savage rifle.
With the 338 Rum its a under powered to the 338 Edge.
Sorry for the miss understanding.....

Nomad, no worries, does it keep the same basic case( change the shoulder or anything), or is the edge just a necked up ultra? Either way, it still has to be a hefty cartridge, whats the ballistics that youre getting like? I love the big boomers, just being curious. What barrel length are you using?

Anyway here are the Canadian details. (The conclusion was to be expected from the gov't of that time- the issue was that they were upset that our soldiers actually shot someone. Also, the team was not allowed to accept their US combat medals): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Furlong
And something for the upstart British bloke: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/interna...JNal3HgWlmEgRL (I however want to see the bodies- and then measure the distance myself. He allegedly outshot our guy by 45 metres- time for a closeup review).

The US military , from what I heard, had a new award that was authorized, that was awarded for showing restraint and not killing in combat. Seems that perhaps harsh language applied in the proper dialect will suffice. I havent heard anything else about the award. Maybe someone can clarify, I may in fact have my facts wrong. Crazy world , and crazier times we live in.

Went by the gun shop and the rifle I was dreaming about in this thread has been sold. I'm saved for now. At least until they restock.
