As the weight reduction phase of the build seems to have come to halt at about 7 pounds 12 ounces, it seems like it's time to make the most of the package. Which means weight will be creeping upwards, mostly!

The first improvement is the elimination of the wretchedly inaccurate 18 1/2" standard weight Criterion barrel. Found a completely unmarked...

ACOG Meets ARMS #18

Posted 01-01-2012 at 04:20 PM by jmoore

Found a Trijicon TA33G-9 ACOG quite by purposeful accident whilst looking for a TA11E on 31 Dec 2011. The TA33 IS smaller and has 1/2 power less magnification than TA11, but it's eye relief is over an inch longer than the bigger scope. Plus it's lighter than the "11", which is altogether appropriate as it's intended for the Lightweight M1A rifle project.

Hmmm... Interesting, but the Audette Incremental Load Method, explained nicely by Ralph Constantine, presents some very real problems that I’ll try to elaborate on. I do use my own "version" of Ladder Load Development that I'll try to quickly explain, and I use it often to develop custom accuracy and best-velocity loads for my customers.

The problem with using only lone load and shooting it in sequence at the same target is this: The author of the article, I’ll call him...

M1903

Posted 12-05-2011 at 07:56 PM by bullpup1903

I have a barn find that I am going to start attempting to get rid of. It's one of two prototypes built for the military, specifically for the cavalry. It's a m1903 bullpup. The military didn't like it and it went away quick.
If you look in Phil Sharpe's "Rifle in America" there is a picture of one of them. I believe it is the one I have.
