Hi, Bill. I am wondering if you could tell me about an M14 barrel I traded one of my NIW 50's M1 barrels for, it is new, (unused that I can tell, gauges "0"), it's chrome lined and is marked

"P" S A 7790190 6 67 BU36

the markings are on the opposite side of the op rod and the odd part to me is that they are "upside down"... is that right?
the other side has a "M" and a tiny DAS. It has the straw thing in the barrel and a neat little cap protecting the crown marked "7260300" (I think, it's tiny lettering).

I am planning to use this on a CMP kit build. Thanks so much for your info, and sorry if this has been covered, I couldn't find any info on the upside down markings.

I'm not Bill but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. What your describing is common on Winchester barrels. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for there to be SA's out there like that. I think your good to go.

I'm not Bill but I do have a late SA barrel like yours and its marked the same, mine is a 9/67 tube and it a very good for accuracy.

It is a Springfield Armory. The P stands for Proof Firing.

June of 67 was the manufacturing date.
