What do you do when someone who has been elected to the highest office in the state of your veterans' organization turns out to be a poser? The worst part is that the higher-ups who rigged the election were notified of the error and refuse to take action. National has also been notified, won't get involved, and passed the matter back to those who created the problem. As far as our league is concerned, Missouri has become the "Snow Me" state.

Those in the Know, will know.

Those in the Know, will know. | Actually... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...All-Categories
Now, I will quickly admit they might all be FAKE...but I don't know the difference and 99.99% of the population won't know the difference...
I have known several former SF guys...but only in the context of the Wyoming Association of Vietnam Veterans, and while they were very proud of their service and in the right circumstances did put on their old uniform complete with patches, etc....I have to say NONE of them ever 'bragged' on themselves no how, no where, no way!

CAVman in WYoming | I understand what you have posted.
But, I have yet to see any of the coins that I have, anywhere outside the Squadrons/Groups I was with.

I guess it falls back to Those in the Know, know.
Can't really offer anything else.
And yes, I do see your point.
I guess taking an interview approach, in the form of small talk will bring to light for others.

Nothing super secret about being SF or having been SF. On active duty the Green Beret and SF tab on the uniform kind of give the secret way?????
I was SF for quite a few years (11B4S origionally, the 18B, 18F and 18Z) and we never made a big secret about it. I live very close to Fort Lewis and neither do the 1st Group SF guys there, on or off post. Also most all of my SF friends are rather proud of being SF and don't make it a secret either, just ask them and they'll tell you. However, there is a big difference between talking about being SF and bragging about it with some BS line......now, there I was on the north fork of the Humongous River, knee deep in grenade pins and up to my ass in brass........

....NYC Police Throw Navy SEAL Into Psych Ward for Claiming…He’s a SEAL

Navy Seal
Turns out the guy was in fact an elite Navy SEAL.
But as the New York Post put it, telling the NYPD "I'm in an elite military unit, you can't arrest me," doesn't help much when the city's draconian gun laws are at issue.
Twenty-nine-year-old Shaun Day was on a leave from his duty as a Navy SEAL duty when cops nailed him for running a red light in Manhattan, New York on Thursday.
NYPD officers searched Day's pickup truck and found a 9mm semiautomatic pistol and three magazines full of ammo.
During the arrest, police claim Day was babbling incoherently and repeatedly claimed that he was an elite Navy SEAL with “top- secret clearance,” but was unable to provide any documentation for police.
After getting shipped off to the psych ward, sources told The Post the Navy sent staffers to talk to Day in Bellevue Hospital, where he was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. According to Gothamist:
"He was released [Friday] in their care, and they were going to treat him for post-traumatic stress. All charges against Day have been deferred, and it's unclear how he was able to prove his status."
So far, the charges against Day of weapons possession and a traffic violation have been deferred.
Over the past few months, other out-of-towners, however, including a former marine, have been arrested for illegal gun possession in New York and face years in prison despite pleas for leniency.
Editor's note: The lawyer for former Marine Ryan Jerome, one of those arrested recently, joined The Blaze Editor-in-Chief Scott Baker on Friday's GBTV 'For the Record' program. Here's an excerpt from that interview:

Weelll I see several guys currently or previously from Colorado here.
I live out the back gate of Ft Carson and know quite a few 10th Gp guys.
I'm an old time SFer, I reenlisted Sf in 1968 and shipped to RVN in 69. I'm one of those "Mike Force" guys that another poster praises so good - THANX for the kind words.
This guy is at best a rempf who was attached to an SF unit in a support role, However I would be very suprised that he ever got close to an SF unit at any time in his life. As someone said there was no 4th Gp, it and the 2nd & 9th were authorized but never activated.
