You're going to start a feud! You know the 1/75th is number one! Actually, I wish I had signed up for the 2nd, Washington state is much nicer than south Georgia, in my opinion.

OF COURSE you wish you had signed up for 2nd BAT

No sense in going through life remembering how you got to spoon with Georgia boys

I was in the delayed entry program for 11 months awaiting my slot with a Real BN... back in Dec 77, when there were only 2 BNs and they were a FORSCOM asset, LOL.

Don't get the bighead, just funnin' here, I was commenting on the area, not that the 2nd was better or anything, not by a long shot...another thing, all those Georgia boys I met in the Army could kick the hell out of you 2nd battalion weenies.

The good thing is that us old farts can sit back and watch just how bad ass the young studs are these days... doing stuff we didn't even dream of...

Hell, this was as high speed as we ever got in my day, and the graphic was two years AFTER I moved on

79-86 BN made all of us with over 4 years leave in 86 or would have stayed for 20.

Kinda off target with this shot but has anyone heard if they opened up a Merrils Maurauder Ranger Museum? I have some items that belonged to an original 5307th Composite Unit Merrils Marauder and would like to donate them. Any help Rangers?

i was not a ranger ... but ..from 1983 to 1986 when in the army and served at Hunter.A.A.F my barracks was right next to the 1/75 ranger barracks and on the weekends our mess hall was closed, and we all had to use the ranger mess hall for chow , sooo.... does this count? lol, sorry have been told i have a weird since of humor carry on rangers , you have my respect.just remembered, is the short-timer tree still in front of the ranger barrack?the one with all the boots hanging in it ? or is it anouther tradition that has bitten the dust in the new army? did take a picture of it before i ets"d
