In the Infantry (USMC & Army) I learned to be a homeless person. I learned to get used to being tired, sore, dirty, & to sleep anywhere. I learned the fine line between packing light & freezing at night. I learned to eat just about anything & how to be a "ghetto gourmet" with MRE's. We also learned to be cockroachs. Anywhere there was food, light, or heat is where we would congregate. I also learned to sleep with IR chem lights on me so that AAV's & tanks wouldn't run me over (they called us "crunchies").
