I always thought that it took at least 2 Marines to get done what one Army soldier can do! |

Hello gentleman, I have Left the service now Dec 26 2010 now in Greensboro NC, left because the current administration decided we shouldn't try to win the war anymore, restrictive ROE handing out humanitarian aid to known Talliban because we cut their supply line and they are starving in the winter the list goes on. But I'm bored now missing the army not sure how to handle selfish civilians and liberal college professors thinking I should join the reserves or NG while I try to get hired on with the Sheriff Dept

LOL, welcome to the civilian world Paul. Find yourself a good woman and a great rifle and get busy with both and try not to let the rest of our F'd up country bother you too much. I went back to California after I got out, talk about insane civilians, I got into so many stupid fights at school(brain washed uppies). Thank goodness I had Morro bays shooting range to take my frustration out on. I live in Louisiana now, little more sane down here.
Welcome to the forum and this thread. |

It's not as high speed as active duty but people who have been active can really shine and it allows you to keep earning a pension. They even have a try it for a year option so if you don't like it, you can leave after that year. And contrary to popular belief, there are some squared away units, even by active duty standards, in the guard.

Thanks for the service and welcome to the civie side of the house. Get some school and dont mind the liberals, ( they know they are messed up ). Get on with the Sheriff Dept or Office and it with schooling could be a step to state or fed Law Dogging.

Robert McKee | Good to hear from an old salt from the days gone by. You bring back good old memories of Okinawa and the 2div. I was in Nam and a few of my buds decided to take r&r in Okinawa. I believe it was Naha or villiage #1 where we went into a nice bar with a big open upstairs and after a few drinks the army decided they didn't want us in their bar messing with their prostitutes.NOW....as I remember it...and it been a long time ago...we were out numbered and we still kicked their butts...like I say..I could be wrong because it was a long time ago. But we were all so tough and a little drunk, I don't think any of us got hurt. LOL By the way, that was in 1967 and I was in the Navy. Thanks for the memories whether they are accurate or not, I like to think they happened this way LOL |

I for one will buy your story because there were plenty of times I was blown out of my socks in Honduras and stories were not straight. I love R&R stories, I can tell a few myself that you would not believe.

SSBN 655 Gold Crew - deterrent patrols, 16 Poseiden 3 birds. If all else failed we'd nuke 'em into a Stone Age.
