Thanks Warren. Glad I found this site. Haven't been to Bragg in going on 52 years now...still fond memories and "that feeling" of brotherhood.
I had written a longer response but lost it to "the computer gods" somehow and to lazy to reconstruct it right now.
Take care guys.
Bob

Has happened to me as well, don't sweat it. I was there about a year ago. It's all new to me, nothing is the same. I would imagine you would have said the same from the time frame that I was there. I did however live for a year and a half in the open bay WWII barracks down by Pikes Field, just like I did in basic on tank hill at Jackson and open bays up at Devens. When I got to a new barracks we didn't know what to do. WHat no fire guard? Roving Patrol?

I was in the 2/504th PIR HHC, A Co., Jan. '88 - Aug. '91. I was naturalized a U.S. citizen while I was in. I was sworn in in uniform.

Hey that is awesome! I bet that was a special day for you!! Welcome to the platoon that may very well get up to company size one day. Also welcome to the forum, glad you checked in over here. Keep in touch and if there are any questions feel free to ask. I may not know everything but I have screwed of these rifles together in the las couple of years. Answers or problems usually get solved on this forum. Again welcome. Oh and buy the way I was there in the same time frame. I was with the 1/17 Air Cav. I am sure we stood tall on the parade field at the same "pass and reviews" at the same time.

Welcome to the paratrooper section of the forum to both Mainzer and Ric2504. Old time Falcon here and still in the Bragg area. Glad to have ya both on board.
Bragg is ever changing and even being local I get misrouted sometimes. Man, it can be a nightmare at times. The troops are still the same, young, hard charging and falling from the sky. Man I hope that never changes. Working with some of them on weekends her teaching them how to shoot the M14 and some are quick studies and damn good shots. Again welcome to the forum and keep em in the x ring

When were you with the 1/504, Mainz? I was there (HHC) from Jan 61 to Jan 63. Colonel Sydney Marks was commanding. Remember the Club Dehos or the Hillbilly Club?

Hay Street is no more, don't miss it, just remember the good times at Ricks, the Bunny and the others. Fayetteville built a Police HQ on it. Remember the above birds to and have the privlidge of saying never in a "goat", always humped.

Wish I had a dollar for everytime I walk out of that place. Actually hooked up with a dancer from across the street. Can't remember the name of the place a Korean woman ran the joint. Man was that chick a train wreck. Had to do something in a place where the chubby chicks were choosey. Anyone remember a joint called the Night Owl Saloon? Think it was off Bragg Blvd. Used to ride my bike inside the joint when it was raining. Miss those days. Been back twice since I echo tango suitcased in 90. Tried to hook up with Jaildog last trip. Missed him. One of these days Bob. By the way have to call you I'm planning another one of those 28 inch barrel AR's and I remember you saying something about 6mm.
Welcome to our little section of the forum!!!! All the way!
