Good weekend at the range

We had quals last month, thought I'd share.

M16 went well for me with one hiccup. I had a 57 out of 40 the first time around. Second time I got 39.

I helped run the crew serve range the next day.

Good times, we went through beaucoup ammo.

Verifying timing...

Dreampiper, it been awhile for me , has the qual course changed in the army? I remember it being a 40 round course, or is it something different now?

You remember right. The first time the guy next to me fired 20 rounds at my target, requiring me t.o re-qual.

Great pictures, Thank you for your service. But your unit should have sand bagged the tripods EVEN MORE so before firing commenced. Your down range accuracy capability would have improved greatly as such. Especially on the 10meter T&E qual portion, if in fact you shot that first? But you did have sand bags, BRAVO ZULU for your unit for doing so. I see so many units at work that NEVER EVER sand bag their M2's tripods, and they throw lead all over God’s creation as a result….

We only qualified on M16s this time. The crew serve was a familiarization range. We had some soldiers from battalion that we ran through a basic course. It was a good opportunity for us to really verify functionality on the guns. We had a few that evidently had not had the timing checked when they were last worked on. Good training on hot barrel changes too.

Thanks from IC2(SS)19Z50C5
