That's what I buy... IMHO it's as good as DAG/MEN and the bonus is the strippers and bandos.

The only FTF I've ever had in my Socom was 3 FTF's with the laquered Monarch ammo, the bolt failed to strip the next round off the magazine (bolt hung up.) I suspect the laquer melted from the heat and 'glued' the top 2 rounds together, but I don't know.

I do not shoot it or any steel-cased ammo anymore, thank you very much.
I agree with the above statement. There is a reason that this ammo is so cheap. It has a LOT to do with quality control at the plant that produces the ammo. Wolf does not produce all of the lower priced ammo in thier own plant, but subcontract it out to various ammo plants ususlly in the european bloc. Components vary even within the same brand, depending on the real manufacturer. There are plenty of threads here on the TFL on this subject, and some actual pics of KBs in rifles. Good European/USA NATO Mil-Surp is at least held to Nato specs and could be recommended in our rifles. Your choice about who makes the bomb next to your head. dozier

Ammoman and Widner's both have good prices on DAG and MEN, either will serve you well. It's the real deal.

I've used Tula in my ar-15 for years. I tried it in my new M1A. Over half of it failed-to-fire exhibiting evidence of light primer strikes. Thinking the ammo might be slightly over-sized for my chamber, I full-length resized the loaded cartridges. Still no good.

2 sections of cleaning rod
1 9mm brush
1 12ga brush
1 Drill
Cleaning solvent of your choice.

attach the 9mm to the cleaning rod sections and chuck it in the the drill. get it dripping with solvent. hit your chamber for about 10 seconds or so.
I don't want to hijack the thread, so I'll ask this and then shut up: I have an AK-74 with this problem. Do you figure this method could help with that also?

I have a Standard M1A, and I have fired at least 700 to 800 rounds of Wolf/Herter's (repackaged Wolf offered at Cabela's) through this rifle. I have not fired at long distances with this stuff, but it seems to be at least as accurate as some of the surplus stuff at 50 yards. Admittedly, it seems to smell of B.O. at times, but it works flawlessly.

I know Wolf is not exactly the cleanest ammunition in the world, but I find it to be cleaner than Pakistani surplus 7.62X51mm.

I know it is anathema to a fair deal of M1A/M14 owners, but I won't hesitate to continue feeding steel cased ammunition through my M1A. However, Wolf .308 really is not much cheaper than good surplus 7.62X51mm at the moment (I find the German 7.62X51 and the Malaysian 7.62X51 to be superlative), so I usually buy surplus 7.62X51mm instead of Wolf .308.

For the record, I have fired Federal American Eagle .308, German surplus 7.62X51mm, Malaysian surplus 7.62X51mm, Portuguese surplus 7.62X51mm, Pakistani surplus 7.62X51mm, and Wolf .308 through my Standard M1A, and I have not had a single failure to feed, stovepipe jam, etc.. :) My M1A may not be as reliable as an AK, but it is still tough as nails and it will digest whatever I feed it (I have probably put a little over 2000 rounds through my M1A).

As far as I know, the only problematic 7.62X51mm is the Indian stuff.

Has anyone tried TulAmmo in .45 ACP? Looks like it would be cheap plinking ammo.
