I've tailored my handloads so they are my best. I get similar results almost as good from FGMM and American Eagle M1A 168gr.

My self manufactured hand loads are most accurate mrwhite1. Following closely in second place is comercially manufactured American Eagle otm m852's which are near as accurate and when available reasonably priced.

Pretty much any Sierra SMK HPBT bullet and 4895 powder will usually give excellent accuracy.
I did not have as good results with 147gr FMJ, or 173gr FMJ military bullets.
For accuracy, it is worth using good 'match' bullets.

Since I am restricted to FMJ factory ammo on our military range I use Norma Jaktmatch 150gr FMJ or a noname brand of it.

41.0 gr of IMR 4895 or IMR 4064, Lapua or Winchester Brass, 168gr Hornady A-Max bullet, and WLR primer (soon to be changed to a match style primer or some brand).

I don't handload so I have to stick with factory ammo. Of course the Fed. GMM 168's do really good, but I get about the same results with some HSM match with 168gr A-Max's. They work a lot better for hunting too.

Aside from handloads, the German DAG NATO surplus from the 1990s works pretty well in mine.

Match type ammo aside, what's the consensus on the Brit Radway Green, or the Aussie A4?

Mine likes 175 gr. SMK's weather it is hand load or Black Hills I have older M1A Loaded with 1 in 11 twist barrel. My brother has the same rifle and his seems to like the 168's better. I figure it's the variences in the tollerance of the clearances in the recievers and throat of the barrel between rifles of the same model and make.
