Finally found one she really likes. HSM 168 bthp match. laid 4 almost on top of each other and a few more just outside the 1in mark. A little birdy told me it is a Black Hills 168 clone.

Never got the Lapua to shoot any better than lackluster in mine (1:10 Douglas or the 1:12" Kreiger). It was just ok.



I like the 125gr TNT.

180 SMK in a medium weight barrel. Hey, Ted stated these bad boys are alright in an M14.

Handloads with 168 or 175 Nosler CC or 175 FGMM.

As far as surplus goes MEN 94 is hard to beat. My handloads barely outperform it at 100-200 yards.

My favorite and most accurate M1A ammunition was 22-250.

If you're talking about "issue" or packaged ammo, I'm with XXiV Corps. A barrel that won't shoot the U.S. M852, any year, any lot, is a chain link fence pipe.

The matches I shoot are 100yd reduced. 125g TNT's and H4895 work pretty well for me. For commercial I've only shot 168 FGMM and they shoot very nicely.

My both my M-14 and LAR-8 prefer the M118LR or my own 175gr SMK pushed by 42gr of Varget. My FAL doesn't like the heavy bullets and shoots the Australian surplus ammo best.

168 grain Hornady HPBT (non-moly, non-Amax) or 168 grain SMK loaded to 2.800" with 41.0 grains of IMR-4895 in an IMI or Lapua case with a Remington 9 1/2 primer.

My reloads.

Out to 300 yards, a 168 Match, be it SMK, Nosler, or Hornady with 41.0 grains IMR 4895 LC case, CCI #34 primers.

At 600 yards, a 175 SMK 41.0 to 41.5 (hot) IMR 4895 LC case, CCI #34 primers.

The 175 SMK will shoot well at 1000 yards.
