This is a discussion on German Surplus Ammo ? within the Ammunition forums, part of the M14 M1A Forum category; I've seen some threads on surplus ammo, but not gotten a real feel for the German surplus ammo. This is what I'm looking at:
Research, the only good game in town anymore......

German Surplus in pack. 1990s production, full metal jacket boattail bullet, 147-grain. Brass-cased. Berdan-primed, with lead-less primer. Non-corrosive, non-reloadable, encapsulated DMIII bullet.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
If you do a search here you will find many postings of it in the last 12 months...
Bottom line it's great military surplus ammunition, just read all the postings. Buy some and try it out, so if you and your rifle like it, then buy all you can.

DAG or MEN makes little difference as to quality of the ammo itself. Right now DAG is the more readily available but I wouldn't hesitate on MEN either(at the right price, DAG is pretty reasonable now!).
