I love the Australian military surplus ammunition, packed in bandoleers/cans. Some of the years that I have tracked down and fired...

Do What?!

I have a whole tin (1000) rounds - OFV 97. Ten thick vinyl packs, each with 10 rounds in thick clear plastic x 10.

Can't load either page you suggest but sure would like to know what it claims so I can research it. Have planned to go use some this weekend.

Read as much as you can. Several users in this post had NO issues. Just do a good visual on the rounds before loading into mags.

7.62x51 boxer primed

I had some 7.62x51 boxer primed in 20 rd boxes. Boxes were unmarked and only markings on head was 7.62x51 and came out of green wooden box that had a tin spam can soldiered together. Any ideas on country of origin. Its very nicely made&packaged. All the case necks are annealed, brass case is perfectly clean, bullets well constructed.
thanks Pfc

I don't want to muddy up this thread. I recently read that some OFV is good stuff. If I can find the info I will post here.
I have some great looking OFV that I have been hesitant to put down range. Looks much better than most of my surplus LC M80.

Just got back from the warehouse... I have tin of 1260 each Winchester 308 ...thank heaven it's not Indian, it's South African.

Now, if someone could help an old green pea out, the label reads "non-corrosive Berdan primers with full metal jacket", it has a factory stamp (I'm guessing) ORM-D. The side label reads "UN 4A - YA49/95 ZACT 326". Inside it has 9 sealed thick tan colored bags with what feels like 7 boxes of 20. I seem to remember paying about $80 for it some 5 years ago. Can someone tell me if this is good enough to feed to my best rifles for range practice at 100 yards?

The question was asked earlier in this thread about OFV 02 with no reply. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge with this date? I have had bad experiences with the earlier dates and am hesitant to use any 02 until I learn more about it. Thanks much.

I don't know anybody who shoots or buys or sells ANY Indian 7.62, or admits to it at least.

I see our old friend once or twice a year still at Gun Shows, the Royal Ordnance (OFV, Indian) vendors selling this as normal military surplus ammunition. No name sells surplus at Gun Shows!
