FWIW--- I got 2K of the Paki stuff a few months back and have shot up 6-7 hundred rounds so far with no issues. It`s reasonably clean, reasonably accurate,no FTF , I would buy more. Everything I have read about the 70`s vintage Indian has been positive. I just placed an order with J&G last week for 400 rnd. can, I am going to try it myself. Some guys have reported it shoots more accurately for them than S/A ammo. I am going to find out.

FWIW, management has no such policy of 'don't say anything good about Indian ammo'. The members here create the data and info. The mods just keep everything on topic and civil. I wouldn't want to try Indian ammo, that is a personal choice. I hand load and really don't wish to try my luck with Pakistan ammo either. Again, JMHO about the stuff. The last so called military ammo I bought without a NATO head stamp, I got burnt bad.

Well I went and ordered 400 Indians from J&G. I'm going to give them a try.

Range report will follow.

I hope all you kiddies bought all the 70's indian 7.62 that you could, cuz it is all gone. I stashed 2k of the stuff and wish I could get more. I hate being restricted to non-magnetic ammo, but kommiefornia ranges are like that.

UPS lost my Indians from J&G Sales.

They said it was delivered and signed for by a person that I don't even know. I'm thinkng the driver, and left it at the front door of my house.

UPS is tracing it now and wil take from 1 to 8 days.

I'm calling J&G now to find out what happens if it is lost forever.

JOE

Indian surp

Bought 600rds. OFV 73/74. All shot well, about the same as RG and better than SA in 2 of my M1A's. All rounds felt and sounded the same. Chambered, fired and extracted/ejected fine. A neat little pile of brass, so pretty consistent.

I bought 25 cases of Spanish SB surp. All sealed cases. It was very inconsistent and about 10% failed to extract. Too light. Worked OK in a friends HK91, but lousy in my rifles.

indian ammo

ive got to say that ive never had any problems with any of the 1200 rnds that ive shot out of my M1A or my FAL, thank God for that. its not as accurate as south african but thats not saying much right..any way in spite of the the high ammo prices and the current affares of the world id like to say Merry Christmas to all, and may the best of the last year be the worst of the next year.. ..

Indian ammo range report

At the range yesterday, my shooting buddy had a FTE with his LRB M25 using Indian OFV75. When I got the case unstuck and out, the mouth had been crushed a bit by the bullet seating.

He has several cans of OFV left and will inspect it all. No more issues for the rest of the day.

Maybe it is the guns it is shot in .
I bought a bunch of this stuff real cheap.
I linked it up, and then tryed it in my 1919A4.
Bad Very bad ,after 3 rounds i had a bad case separation .
Its was a good thing i had a spare barrel , after changing that out i only used SA ,it always worked fine.
I am almost afraid of it now ,but a Browning is hard on ammo.

The Indian can be hit and miss remember be safe this ammo has went south with more than one shooter. Check all rounds for dents and what ever else that could be bad for your rifle cheap ammo is not always the best way to go.

Thanks Fred:
I just do not trust it , the seperation was in a new Izzy barrel ,and i don't want to mess it up.
I have been trading it off for 45ACP ,and 9mm.
I think i will keep doing that until its gone.
I have a whole lot of SA ,and Lake City stuff and i have been staying with that.
At the price of ammo the bottom has fallen out of the belt fed markets ,and the Brownings.
I may just take a hit and sell it to a guy who wants it
And get a tanker ,at least i can feed it.

FWIW, I've fired a couple thousand rounds of Indian without one problem.

Pretty good brass for reloading too.
