175 GR Sniper bullet reloading info

Wondering if anyone has had a chance to reload the 175 gr sniper bullet from Wideners ?? Accuracy and load data info would be greatly appreciated. Currently I am using the 175 Sierra MatchKings with 39.5 gr of IMR 4895 for matches. Shoots fantastic in my SAI M1A loaded, but if the 175 gr sniper bullets is comperable, and at 1/2 to 2/3 the price I think switching would be worth it.

Get a few and try it out. Should not be a significantly different load than what you are already using. Personally, I would say they are not as good as the SMK...out on a limb, probably not. If you shoot in competition than stick with the 175 SMK for the 600 yard line.

I use 41.3 gr IMR 4895 for my 175 SMK/LC/CCI34. Work up the load from 39.0 gr and see what happens. I just don't trust testing these out at 100 yards and need some 600 yard line work to confirm their consistency. They better be absolute tack drivers at 100 yards.

I don't wanna be a Sniper and I don't pretend to be one, but I do use the 175 Bullet for the 600yd Line in Matches, however I prefer the SMK, my Recipe for that is: LC or Lapua Brass, 43.0grs of VithaVuory N150 Powder with a Federal 210M Primer,Trim 2.005 OAl 2.800, this may not work for everyone or everyone's Rifle but it sure works for my Rifles!

Would love to shoot at 500 YDs +. Unfortunately all of the local ranges have gone to 100 yard reduced target matches. All of the local ranches have deactivated their 'pits' or filled them in due to insurance, maintenance costs or lack of use. Most matches involve posting and returning your own target but scoring is done by a non competitor. 2 ranges do have the 500 yard shooting capability and I've seen people use 4 wheelers to go down range and check their targets. I cheat and bring my astronomy telescope, 102mm refractor and assorted eye pieces. Expensive 'spotting scope' but works fine. I also set up multiple targets and have a fullsized target next to me on a shooting bench which takes up a lot of room, that I use red push pins to keep tract of my shots.
