I like to reload for all of my firearms. Not even good box ammo. I do so because it is the cheapest route and also gives the best results. With that said, I don't care enough to shoot straight with my AK, so it gets whatever junk I can find, but never gets cleaned either. I can't find a benefit to using corrosive ammo unless it's free.

I tend to shy away from it, plenty of alternatives out there. Got a couple nice above average Mosins and I chose to reload for them rather than shoot the corrosive.

Now with my 1858 BP no getting around a through cleaning, it's ammonia based products that help with the corrosive salts, hosing it with Windex before leaving the range makes the chore easier, when I get home remove the grips, and throw it into the laundry room sink with hot soapy water to soak a little while I get a beer, then take a brush and warm running water to it, let it dry on a towel, hose it with WD40 and put a blow dryer on it to remove all moisture, then lube well & put away.

Some folks make up their own cleaning solutions with 5-10% Ammonia, Windex, Dish soap etc. There are some specialty cleaning products for BP & corrosive ammo. Hoppe's #9 used to be a good product, but, the jury's out if they changed their formula and it's not as good anymore at neutralizing the salts. Then there's GI Bore cleaner if you can find it...
