I haven't opened mine and hope I don't have to. That lab mutt Maddie weighs 80 pounds. She approves. Yes my wife is pissed I have a crate of ammo on her rug but she will get over it.

I also noticed the lead seal and the little wire tie I thought that was pretty cool.

Sportsman's Guide has it on sale again and they're are only about 78 240 packs left that are 1980 production, so reloadable, in the prime picking location. I checked this afternoon for production dates and the next location once the main runs out will be 1978 production. I have a feeling this will be the end of the supply so I'm bringing in 30 of the 240 packs for my store inventory tomorrow, all 1980 production for my customers. I like to break some of them down to the 20rd box level for my new M1A an M14 owners.

Thanks from TheShooter and Wasted ammo

None whatsoever. These are all plastic bag sealed in cardboard master packs. The 20 packs are also plastic sealed individually. No complaints from my customers.

Thanks from Wasted ammo

Thank you M14 fanatics. I ordered three battle packs this evening from Sportsman's Guide.

I've got a bunch of new mags to function test, and this should work very well.

That's the scuttlebutt, but I can not confirm or deny it.

This will be my first use of Hirt. Even if it's Berdan, I'll happily shoot one of the packs and put the others into storage.

I have bought and shot the berdan primed before, all I have seen looked like it was made yesterday not 40+ years ago.

Received yesterday. I'll take pics when I open it too. I bought it for test firing.

Any of that '80 left? What are the chances they'll pull from that, and not the earlier dated stock?
