I have some 'once fired brass' here that went though my rifle just fine!

A fair sized shipment of Brazilian CBC made it to the USA some years back that turned out to be equivalent to C4 in a brass case.
A friend had just received a case of CBC for his Christmas present.
I was about 4ft away from him spotting for his M1A bush rifle when he fired one of the 130,000 cup rounds completely destroying his rifle .
Believe me that leaves a lasting impression
You can keep your CBC just don't shoot it around me.

Read the 16th entry
http://www.firearmsid.com/Recalls/Ammo_Recalls%201.htm

Springfield Armory even included a warning about the hot loaded CBC in the green boxes of the early 90's,
right along with the headspacing tag. [My 88' didn't, my 91' did]
It blew up a number of battle rifles at the time. FAL's , HK91's , M1A's .
There was quite a flap about it at the time
I'm not saying anything but the 75' marked ammo is bad
BUT
I'll never forgive them or forget them

That said I'd save up just a little bit more cash and buy some better made ammo than CBC for a $1500 plus rifle.

Thanks from TheShooter

Yeesh, thanks for the warning. I certainly won't be buying any more. I wonder if I should even use up the 50 rounds I got.

As long as your ammo headstamp is not 75' your cool .
The suspect boxes were also stamped "Reengistada"
Remember only the year 75' was recalled.
They have not had any other "hot load" problems other than that 1 year that I'm aware of.
The rest of their ammo is safe to use ,
It might not be the cleanest burning or the most accurate ammo available,
but for plinking let er rip and don't worry about using it.
I have bad memories of CBC.
Anytime I see questions about CBC 762x51 I try to make them aware of the bad stuff from 75' ,
I do that on the off chance there's still a box or a case of that C4 stuff still out there ,
maybe an heir left it or they picked it at an estate sale.
If it saves one life or one rifle it was worth my time .

Like I said that rifles destruction 4 ft from my head made an serious & lasting impression on me .

Thanks from JEFFJP_N_JJ and Rich D

I've put about 100 rounds of this through my Scout with no issues. Good to read about the '75 stuff though...

The headstamp looks like it says 15. Hopefully I'm not misreading 75! Also, the headstamps have this green smear. What is that?

Some type of sealant [often lacquer] around the primer , it's found on lots of surplus in various colors.
As long as your ammo is not headstamped 75 your good to go

I Can't say enough great things about CBC Ammo.
The brass is top notch too.
I have CHS(case head separation) lines in LC 14/15 after 2 firings. I have reloaded 13/14/15 CBC with no CHS line after 4 firings.

Great stuff.

My M1A shoots it just fine , but the manual for my LR-308 specifically warns against CBC ammo.

This needs to be addressed.

Any reason why your LR-308 says to stay away from CBC?

It just so happens I have a buddy who is having 'problems' with his LR-308 with FTE and extreme extraction issues and CBC 12 Headstamp.
