Rem 700 with new load wowzers.

Been working on new load for my Rem 700 this Spring. I think I found the key, at least for me shooting it at 100 yds.
DAG brass trimmed to 2.05. Neck turned from .015 to .013.
Tula Berdan primer using 40.5 gr of 4064 under a Berger 150 gr fb held .004 off the lands.
Redding competition bushing die .001 under and Redding micrometer competition seating die. Bullets are running right at 2550 at 12'.
Scope is Leupold MK 4 8.5 - 25.

Ten round group at 100yds fired prone supported with bipod. Bag under butt. Intentionally left so as not to obstruct aim point.

Max spread .6" Adverage .32"
My best group in the past was a .44 adverage.
That is an improvement of about 25% just by doing a little more work up on the load and a little more than standard brass prep.
This was fired clean cold bore. Temp 59 deg. F.

Maybe not , but any one would have given a bad guy a heck of a headache.
When the rifle gets put away it gets two clicks of right windage, just so you know.

Just personal preference I guess. I believe the two flash holes make for a more consistent round. Even Lapua brass with the 210M will only give me about .5 to .6 moa adverage.
I like the way the DAG anneals. I can get 25 to 30 loadings before there is any degradation. The primer pockets actually seem to tighten up with use. Just the opposite of boxer.

Is your Remmy an 'off the shelf' model, or a Gunsmith job?

Thanks from nf1e

Plain old 700P off the shelf that I dropped into a Bell and Carlson stock, added optics and Harris bi-pod. Nothing Fancy around here.

Darn dude,

If I had too much paper in my pockets, I'd love to cajole you into sharing the fruits of that expertise.

Question is, can compensate for me?

Good job!

Oddly... I fully agree with this.

I have some Port. pulldown Berdan primed brass that required little to any load workup with 150gr Bronze Points, Nosler BT's and H4895.

I was amazed how accurate those reloads are.

The only bad part was the "tar" sealant in the neck... arrgh...

Thanks from nf1e
