Aguila 7.62x51

Anyone shot any of this stuff? 147grn FMJ BT, and I need some ammo for this weekend, so no time to have any shipped in with the new year and everything. Will be shot through my loaded m1a. Thanks!

Dirty and underpowered, but cheap around here. I'd shoot it if I didn't have any other options. I tried the 9mm in my HK USP and P30, but after multiple missfires I gave the rest to a friend who had similar complaints while shooting it in his M&P. The 7.62 was about the same. I only put one ten round mag through my Scout before I sold the rest. Three of the ten rounds were FTE and another that was an FTF. Hope that helps...

I've shot tons of their 22, 9mm and a few hundred 7.62x 51. The brass is good to reload on 9mm but not sure about the 7.62/ it is Boxer primed though. They make ammo for the armies south of the border.

Shot some of their 30 cal carbine through both an M1 carbine and a Ruger Blackhawk revolver. Some rounds didn't sound right. Took the brass home to reload had problems getting primers out. Once I got them out I found 10 out of the 50 had the hole off center. OK to shoot not too sure about reloading.

When I was at the range a few weeks ago, the guy in the lane next to me was shooting his brand new H&K G3 and he had bought a whole bunch of this Aguila 7.62 for its maiden voyage. As he attempted to send rounds down range every 2nd round would jam on ejection so bad he had to break it down to get them out. He was not happy.

I know nothing about the G3 so the only thing I could think to do was give him 10 rnds of the of the plain 'ol Winchester 7.62 FMJ I was shooting. They ran through his G3 like (___) through a goose.

He loaded up another mag with the Aguila and it was jam-city again. Go figure. He packed up and headed to Academy to try to get his money back. I didn't have a chance to break the bad news to him that they won't take returns on ammo.

Bringing a dead thread back up.
I picked up a couple boxes of this to try out, it was decently priced. While I did not shoot it through my M1A, I did shoot it through my AR10. I will say my AR10 has been 100% reliable, not one single malfunction of any type. I have been shooting only my hand loads up until now. It keeps between .5 to 1 inch groups at 100 yards depending on the load and bullet.
This agulia stuff is horrible. I loaded up 10 rounds, and out of 10 rounds, I had about 5-6 malfunctions. I even opened up my adjustable gas block a couple more clicks with no help. I also have seen better groups from a shotgun. Never buying any more of this stuff. Luckily I only bought 2 boxes. I will probably burn it up out of a bolt gun just to get rid of it.

Thanks from XXIV Corps, Old Sarge and Rich D

I've shot exactly one box though my M1-A. It was on par with other M80 loads. Not overly dirty. I'd would buy more, except too expensive! It is $15.99 on sale! At local Big 5 sporting goods. I like their.22 and 9mm. The .22 does smell different.

I've shot one box each of their .22 HV (LOL) and their .30 carbine, BOTH were woefully underpowered, to say the least... the .30 carbine would not penetrate a silver dollar sized ALUMINUM coin ( Mardi Gras doubloon) !!! IMHO Aquila of ANY caliber is a waste of money unless you are really hurting for brass to reload....
