? Ammo shortages coming again?

In light of the sicko who went in and shot up the Navy Yard (RIP)...our fearless elected leaders are already huffing and puffing about too many guns. I think there will be much faster shut-up period, with Healthcare and all the other stuff they are blowing on the public...but...

Are we going to go through the first 6 months of this year (or 7 or 8)...again, and soon?

Or are companies better versed for it now? Having done it once?

What say you.

IMO, during the hysteria people bought whatever

they could find at whatever price was asked.

This drove prices through the roof and supply

through the floor. Many people like me refused

to pay exorbitant prices and let our ammo fund grow

until prices came down. Now supply is up, prices are down,

and all of us who didn't buy are starting to open our wallets.

This has a recoil effect on supply, so we will likely see a

rollercoaster on supply/price for some time. My best guess

is this will continue for the next two years. Unless another

lunatic gets a hold of a weapon and kills a bunch of kids

or the demoturds and libertards take the House and Senate

in 2014.

That is EXACTLY what I did. Then.....just today I was in need of a 1000 round case, and looked around locally....Most 762x39 was 400 a case. The cheapest was some stuff called "Hot Shot" (never heard of it) for $300...

THEN.....I said to myself, "hey wait, I am on the M14 Forum, so I went to AMMO2U and ordered a case of TUL for $230 + 33 shipping. They beat everyone. Keepin' it real, & Keepin' it "in house"....

I don't think things will change much, for a change I think American citizens and even the media recognize Obama's speech for what it is, an attempt to place blame away from government where it squarely belongs. I have barely even heard mention of his statements, even from his buddies in the main stream media. Why on earth should a U.S. military installation be so poorly defended and secured that a lone gunman can go in and kill 12 people at his leisure after what happened at Fort Hood only a short time ago.

I don't think anyone is worried right now, people have come to the realization that the dems will need the house to pass any legislation, now if that happens in 2014 there will be shortages

I'm hoping for a price hike again!!!

My 26,000 + rds of 7.62x51 surplus that I paid 17 cents a rd for 8 years ago was going for up to a dollar a pop there for awhile. I sold 5,000 rds at a gun show and that paid me back for my entire inital purchase price for the whole lot. Now my remaining 21,000 rd supply is only worth $10 grand or so.

I can't afford to shoot my own stash these days....so I continue to do what I've been doing...reloading. If it ever comes back to 17 cents, I'm gonna start stocking up again.

As far as I can see, we still have a shortage. When decent ammo can be found at reasonable prices, it gets sucked up quick. A lot of it by guys here on the Forum. I figure that a lot of the initial demand was by first time gun buyers that were forced to buy at exorbitant pricesf for their new firearm. Those of us here that already had a reasonable cache, and stated that we would not pay the unreasonable price just waited. Well it's our turn now. Ammo is starting to show up at lower prices since Dec. 2012. Time for us to resupply, guys. As long as incidents like DC keep happening, O**** is going to keep beating his drum. dozier

I too hear the 'huffing and puffing'...

But until they start pushing something...Concrete.

This go-round, Americans are not buying into the idea that...This Could Have Been Prevented By More GUN LAWS!

And until Americans again start to sense an ANTI-GUN Momentum...

There will be no (additional) Panic...

No Additional Shortages or Buying Frenzies.

In my view...we are more or less in a Holding Pattern!

It is very hit and miss where I live. I was at my local gun shop yesterday, they actually had plenty of 5.56, 7.62X51, and 7.62X39, but when I asked about some .22 LR and a box of 30/30, they looked at me like I had 2 heads, 3 arms and an alien baby sticking his head out of a back pack. I still don't understand why 22 LR is like unicorn feathers, or hens teeth. why is 30/30 so scarce, are there really that many people stocking up on 30/30. I thought this is close to hunting season, they should atleast have 30/30 shells.

Thanks from budster

Salty Dog, you've get to understand the amount of 30-30s and .22 cal RF rifles/pistols there are out there. The 30-30 was the first centerfire smokeless sporting cart. manufactured. Over 110 yrs old. Can you imagine how many of these have been produced over the years, and probably sitting in closets? Same history with .22 cal RF rifles/pistols/and revolvers? If you have a lot of mouths to feed, there won't be a lot of food to go around. dozier
