I went to my local store that I buy ammo from and their shelves are full of Ruger 25rd mags at pre-panic prices. I even bought a BX-25 mag on the spot for $29. Another local store was selling them for $50. She says she has tons of mags in the back. She said they actually got a huge ammo shipment in but it was all gone very quickly and they are limiting purchases to 1 box per customer per day.
I noticed online that AR mags are only now 2x normal cost and remaining in stock. I also noticed that our beloved CMI mags are in stock at various places and pretty much remaining in stock. The only thing that hasn't shown signs of catching up is powder/primer availability and availability of Magpul mags.
They have 7.62x39 1000 rds for $348 (Wolf)
7.62X51 (308) 147 grain M80 Ball boxer primed 640rds for $635 (Lake City?)
I am new to the m14/m1a and have one patiently waiting for me to be released from the DPRK and I would like to pick up some of this.
I have a Socom 16 NIB and I know from some basic searching that there are some better loading options for the socom and was wondering how this would stack up. I am not looking for perfection right off but would this stuff work well?
No, it's worse.
Went to my LGS today (last time there about 3 wks ago). Guns Ok, but reloading stuff was picked over like buzzards. Only primers was to bricks of Fed sm pistol, I grabbed one, since my timing is bad or they are more rare than hen's teeth. Been almost two years since I've seen any sm pistol of any brand here. A few boxes of shotshell primers, and two boxes of lg mag rifle primers. Last time there were about a hundred boxes of about three brands of all primer types (no #34's).
There were about 20 one pounders of various unpopular or shotshell powder. Last time they even had 4 pounders of Bullseye and Unique , one pounders of H4895 (still no W231 or 8 lbs of 4895).
Bullets were Ok if you wanted .32 pistol or 10mm(heavier) not too much for .40(lighter). Bunch of large caliber rifle or super premium hunting bullets.
Looked like common reloading dies were hard to come by, also.
Hardly any brass in desireable calibers.
P.S. the primers were $36.99/1000.
I received an Availability Notice from Midway today regarding Starline 45 ACP brass (nickel plated), in packs of 500 or 1000. Bought 1000. They still have it available as of about 30 minutes ago.
