SAAMI/STANAG spec sheets

Because of my "project", I dug up my copies of the STANAG spec sheets for 7.62. I can easily post some of the "pictured" specs sheet, but the actually STANAG 7.62 spec sheet is an engineering manual and it's massive since it includes data on the Duplex rounds. These Documents came from Frankfort Arsenal. The .308 one comes from SAAMI. Be advised they no longer note 7.62 X 51 anymore.

If anyone wants more, just send me a private message so I won't miss it when I drop in when I can. The STANAG engineering data has the specs that cover 7.62 X 51 use from the M14 to the M-60 to the GE Mini-Gun. It's where I first got the Eng. Manual. It came with the Armorer's manual for the GE. A lot of this came from Frankfort years ago. No, I did NOT work there. But it was a nightmare to turn a GE into a blank gun.

Here's the SAAMI .308. Sorry, my SAAMI book is an old one, so the scan wasn't as clean as it could be. Yep, been around M14s and M1As for a few years to put that very mildly.

Here's the STANAG 7.62 sheet. Also color codes for differing ammo. *IF* this doesn't reproduce well, let me know via private mail again. I think I have a cleaner version for the project. Sorry guys, busy at the moment. Do NOT ask me when I got this, I'd have to admit how old I am! Chuckle.

OK, one more since I just happened on it. The specs for AP. I do have cleaner, but I have to dig through a 350 page PDF file. Nope, won't convert to Word, Word won't handle documents that large. In fact since I was working on that file last night, there's actually documentation of the different steel cores in the AP round. The .308 AP round is not effective. To get it to work means ungodly pressure curves which is exceptionally bad for M14s and M1As. A double lugged receiver is not the solution. Nothing personal to anyone, but I won't work on them anymore.

Also note the picture of the STANAG book. Again, if you want more, you know how to get my attention since it'll come up before I go to any other forum. If anyone is interested, I'm currently working on the part about stock work.

Thanks for posting. I have seen some standardization cartridge drawings before. I used to have some in different languages for NATO but I've lost most of them. I once saw, but did not own a copy, the dimensions for the 7.62 mm NATO "proof" chamber. This is not a chamber with the same headspace of the M-14 and the M-60. I have been looking for drawings, dimensions and specs for the 7.62 mm NATO proof chamber.

How long is this book so far?

sounds like your working on a 100.00$+ book retail of course.

Having been in the publishing business we had to break it to a lot of authors that if your book is too long you will price yourself out of the market.

my recommendation is to break it up into volumes

edit - i should say that this is if your want your book printed stateside. if you order at least 10,000 copies china can do whatever you want and you'll still make money.
