I have a brown plastic battlepack of 7.62 and am trying to figure out who made it. There is a white sticker on the pack with the following:

200
Round
7,62x51mm
Ball
BF 79-76 (also has the NATO(?) circle with cross inside marking)

I suppose I should open it to see what the ammo looks like but I would probably find the same markings (or less) on the brass.

Portuguese?

Who is BF, as distinguished from FN? I have a lot of FN Portuguese but it's all in green plastic packs. When you said brown I immediately thought South African or W German.

First, you have to cut me some slack about the color. I technically am color-blind (which to me means more unable to correctly identify some colors) so this may be a very dark green battlepack.

According to the chart referenced in this thread:

this is most likely "Fábrica Nacional de Munições de Armas Legeiras, Chelas, Portugal". Now I don't know is this company is FNP or not, don't know enough about these companies. But I think that Portuguese is a good ID.

I appreciate everyone's help in this.
