| Korean Mag issuessssss!!!
Put my new SAI m1a scout squad through its paces today. Had a great time but had some issues with two of my magazines. They were Korean 20rd purchased from cheaper than dirt for 10$. One consistently would not feed rounds, specifically the bolt would lock back frequently but not consistently. I also had trouble releasing the bolt and stripping the first round. The other mag had a few similar hiccups but consistently would lock open on the last round leaving it free in the receiver. Let me say outright that I will be ordering two new CMI mags from .44 mag but as something of a project I would like to modify these mag and see I can get them to function better. Your thoughts please

Well Lesson Learned For You. Some People Never , Some People it takes a Great Deal of Time for the problems to manifest .
You cannot go wrong with CMI
My Suggestions as to get them to Perform Better
Use them as Targets |

Thirdly I agree with Charles and your buddy. Don't feel bad I think we all have done it. Ever since I did I have been on a mission to buy as many legit mags as possible and to prevent others from making the same mistake.
Just a note there is a fella in the PX selling some CMI mags.

It might just be throwing good money after bad, but you could change the spring and follower to CMI and see if that helps.

I bought a couple last spring that had problems. I got out the calipers and compared everything to a GI mag and the original GI mag blue print. After some Demel work and some bending with pliers I got them to work reliably.

I bought three way back when I first got my rifle and two have ended up as targets.

You don't really say how many of these Korean mags you bought, just that you had trouble with two at the range? You could replace the spring and follower w/USGI, and hope that solves the problem. But the real problem could be an out of spec mag body or feed lips, so you would still have problems. And out the $$$ for the springs and followers. I agree with the other posters to cut your losses, and call it a lesson learned. dozier

Id try new followers and springs first, why waste what could be decent range mags? That way you arent wearing out your good mags
If the new parts dont help, save tehm for later in case you need them then destroy the bodies

I did it to, the metal isn't up to standards. They may start out as in spec, but load em up with twenty rounds, leave them for a while. Tlips give, I see where the bolt polishes the lip edges. Good only if you only load a few rounds at a time.
