Howdy Morgan12. I did my Crew Chiefing at Beale AFB in California and Kadena AB in Okinawa, 1968-74. We kept the trusty KC-135Q's in the Air (most of the time) for the SR71 Black birds. Also did several typhoon evac's in CCK and Angeles City with a few stop overs in Thailand, Spain, and of course faced the dreaded cold of Alaska in dead winter at 60 below. Certainly the best days of my life.

Aircraft maintenance officer as a LT. Worked with extremely fine crew chiefs on BUFFs and tanks. And then flew BUFFs crewed by professionals!

I'm not a Crew Chief, but a AO/G (Aerial Observer/Gunner) on CH-46E's. Basically a Crew Chief without the formal school and title. We get all the same codes and training of a Crew Chief just home grown from your individual squadron. **EDIT** Sorry didnt see this was in the Air Force Forum. My Bad!! **EDIT**

You could have asked for a better airframe, we called it the F-15. Don't hate!
