I've Died And Gone To Heaven

A cone head is now the commander of the newest command "Global Strike Command" Hopefully SAC with a new name. I guess all the senior Buff Drivers are flying commercial now.

http://www.af.mil/information/bios/bio.asp?bioID=6081

Never thought I'd see the day when a non rated officer was in charge of our nuclear strike operators. My gut tells me we need a high hour Buff AC at the helm it doesn't seem right and I'm a old cone head.

For Loring, Pease, Plattsburgh and Griffis Restricted Alert, Restricted Alert.

PS: If you stood SAC alert from 1987 to 1991 you met me and didn't realize it.

Cheers

I notice that his bio had him as a member of The Frozen Chosen @ Grand Forks from January 1984 to July 1987:

7. January 1984 - August 1984, Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile combat crew commander, 446th Strategic Missile Squadron, Grand Forks AFB, N.D.
8. August 1984 - July 1985, operations officer, 447th Strategic Missile Squadron, Grand Forks AFB, N.D.
9. July 1985 - March 1986, Chief, Standardization and Evaluation Division, 321st Strategic Missile Wing, Grand Forks AFB, N.D.
10. March 1986 - July 1987, Commander, 447th Strategic Missile Squadron, Grand Forks AFB, N.D.

Mebbe we can get SAC 2.0 with this guy. It'd be a nice change, IMHO.

LtGen Frank Klotz, US Global Strike Command

I'm priviledged to be a classmate of Frank's--National War College, 1988. He is one of the brightest people I've ever met.
Another classmate, no stranger to this post, was COL Robert Howard, US Army; MOH, who passed away last December. Small world...

While I was in the Air Force, there was an Engineering Officer that was made a Wing commander. A non rated Wing Commander! Of course, being an Engineering Officer myself, I saw nothing wrong with it.
