Airmen?

Hey, I guess this thread is about AF guys.
You know, the ones used to many miles of runway.

I thought it might include real "tailhook" airmen.

My favorite thing was when Army guys noticed the different patches on our BDU's, they'd come up and say "I was going to join the Air Force, but ------" (fill in the blank).
My reply: "Oh cool, I was going to join the Army, but my scores were too high"... It was cruel I know, but I always like the look on their faces.

I married a Soldier I met there, as a matter of fact. We're going on 20yrs this year. Hottest Army chick I ever saw; even better today....
Yeah, they have some lame name for AWS now. I can beat your "Air Force forgot you..." story. I was in King Salmon AFS, AK (joint use AF/civilian) and worked with the weather bureau (observer 25251). The only time I got in uniform was to get paid and for space available flights on leave. (See my post on the Chanute B-36 elsewhere on this forum for some memories.)

Someone had a good sense of humor sending me from the dry cold to hot humidity.

Now I'm a DoD Contractor... similar work for a much better paycheck.
