No GD built 2 of them...one single seater and one two seater.

I was there to pickle the 2 seater when it came back from Edwards [1985] and we pulled the engine and parked it for awhile till NASA leased it a year or so later so we shoved an engine back in it and back to "Edwards" she went.

I think the single seater came home the year before but really cant remember for sure.

You can have a real nice look at even Area51, if you like. I reminisce and "visit" past assignments with Google Earth view.

The Final Resting Place for Navy submarine reactor compartments. "Trench 94" on the Hanford Reservation. Sorta military, sorta not. The photo is usually a couple of years out-of-date.

Here are some interesting images:

An empty end of an airfield in Horseheads, NY, on 3/31/2006. Note that the right hand side of the image is intentionally blurred (the airfield), but to the left everything is as clear as commercial satellite imagery got in 2006. Note the beginnings of a construction project in the upper left.

The same spot on 6/4/2006. Note that the construction site is now also blurred.

By 5/23/2008, there is a blurry building on site.

By 5/3/2009 the building is operational, with many employee vehicles in the parking lot. There's a blurry black shape on the tarmac to the northeast of the building

5/26/2011- apparently we needed it a little blurrier here, due to events on the 2nd of May that year, which has now brought attention to something produced at this site.

No further imagery exists publicly until 9/24/2016, which is normal for upstate NY- routinely updated every five years. Note that there is no longer any blurring in the image and the building sits vacant. Sikorsky is no longer operating here. (This image will appear in following post, since I can only attach five per post)
