I have learned that there is more than one USAF. Those known to me in the fighter squadrons are the finest and most dedicated young men that this country produces. I'm not just referring to the pilots, but to all ranks. I saw the other end of the spectrum at a USAF boot camp graduation where I was one of a small group of Marine parents who were mostly in uniform. As the formations passed the reviewing stand with female DI's screaming commands and sounding like chickens, it was obvious that only the first three or four ranks were actually marching. The others simply slimed along behind them. Later, it was explained to us that only those who could march were placed in the front ranks while all others walked along and followed them. Basically, most members of these coeducational platoons were not motivated enough to even learn how to march. Pictures and actions described on this forum are hardly a surprise.
